Working with Great Grandpa Howard

While we were in Duncan we would go out to my Grandma & Grandpas house to entertain the boys while my parents were working. So Mason wanted to help do yard work so my grandpa would find something for them to do.

Mason wanted to pet the horses but he was afraid to stand there by himself so my grandpa held him while he touched them.

Even Chase loved the horses and wanted to keep touching them. They had so much fun out at there house that when Mason would first wake up he wanted to go out and work.

CHUCK WICKS

I was at my moms house while Darren was elk hunting and we went to the Chuck Wicks concert in Safford. I look very goofy but I was so excited to get a photo with him.

These are the photos I took at the concert. It was really good but it was kinda loud at times and so it was hard to understand some of the words. My mom took me and my grandparents, while my dad stayed home with the boys. It was alot of fun and the Best part was when I took the picture with Chuck Wicks after the show by his tour bus.

MASON'S FIRST SOCCER GAME

Mason was so excited for his first game. It was on Saturday 9-12-09 .Here is a picture of his number.....We had to talk up the number because it was not what he wanted he wanted number 7 but it was to big and then someone gave him number 5 and another kid wanted that number so I said," Number 2 is AWESOME!" So now he is ok with number 2.
DOING THERE STRECHING..................
DOING SOME DRILLS..........
MASON GOING TO SCORE A GOAL! GO NUMBER 2!
Another drill

Mason and the other team getting ready to start.

Mason had alot of fun. He is very good a soccer. The other moms told me that he should be on the older age team so he could learn more but I think that it is because he always gets the ball away from the other team and instead of passing to his team he goes and scores. He doesn't realize that he is better than his teammates which is good because then he will keep having fun. He does stay back and let them get the ball and try to score. They don't keep score at this age but in Mason's head he kept the score. They won and Mason made all the goals.

ALL ABOUT CHASE

Chase's hair was getting to long that we decided to take him and get it cut short. He has this very thick hair and alot of cowlicks. But we just thought that we would give it a shot. HERE THE BEFORE.........HERE IS THE AFTER............ Very Fuzzy hair.
These pictures are of him in his new exploring of the things he can do..........He was so proud that he could dump out all the toys and then fit in the truck..............
He climbs up on the exercise bike and thinks that he can do it because he then stands up and messes with the controls.
I try to gel the new hair cut but it goes fuzzy shortly after it is done. So I am not sure we will keep it short. It is so hard to know what to do with the hair. He loves to talk on the phone and pretend that he is on the phone.
Chase is still very fussy and is trying to talk but just can't seem to get the words out. He is very social to everyone he sees. Church is not his favorite place to go because he just doesn't want to sit still. He is starting to really like his dad but there are times when he still only wants me. He weighs 28lbs but is starting to slim in the look but still very solid. He also wants to do everything his big brother does like climbing on the counters, climbing the wall, and even climbing the stairs backwards. He also wants to play with Mason and his friends. Mason is excited for Chase to get bigger so he will understand more things to do.

UPDATE ON MASON (no pictures)

I am just posting what Mason has been doing because he has kept us busy. On Sunday September 6, 2009 Mason passed off all 13 ARTICLES OF FAITH. He is only 4 years old so we were really proud of him and that it didn't take him very long to do it(Ithink that it was only 5 or 6 months). He is so smart because also the primary program is coming up and I forgot that on Sunday was practice so before church I told him his part 4 times and he then had it memorized. He is very impressive to us.
Then awhile back when he went to DR. SANSON for his well check she noticed a heart murmur, that she hadn't heard before. So we had to go get X-RAYS of his heart and then go to a heart specialist. So today we went to FLAGSTAFF for the specialist and he said," That the heart murmur is one that ages 3-6 kids can get." "He said that he will out grow it and that everything is ok." He did say that Mason is special because most of us have 1 vain to the heart on the right side but Mason has both the left and right vain. So he said,"That it is not harmful it is just like people have moles and some don't."
Then tonight was the last SOCCER practice till the games start on Saturday. Tonight they decided to play against the other team that was practicing, which were 5&6year olds. So we played 3 on 3 and Mason was really good. He was after the ball wanting to get it away from the other team. He scored the 2 points that they had. He was so excited that he scored. Then there was another boy on the team crying because he didn't get the ball, so now I don't know if I should say something to the coachs about Mason trying to kick it to the team or just let him do like he does go to score goals? Very confussed as a parent because I feel bad for the boy but excited for Mason.
Mason is in preschool and LOVES IT! He would love to go everyday. He is always wanting to learn and we are so proud of him. He has a hard time listening to us and so we get very angry but then he does some awesome things and we are so happy. It is tough being a parent sometimes but we Love him very much.

Darren in a Suit

Sunday Darren was put in the Stake as the STAKE YOUNGMENS PRESIDENT. Up here if you get put in this calling you have to move up in the priestood to High Priest and Then they make you a High Counsler. So Darrens parents came for that. I took a picture of him in the suit we bought him for $58 on clearance at Jc Pennys. Darren is not a suit man so I wanted to take a picture to show my family what he looks like in a suit. He is nervous of his new calling but will do well if I can just be supportive. Darren did say he will only wear the suit when he needs to because it is to hot.

MOUNTAINS with Grandma & Grandpa Sparks

On Sunday afternoon we decided to take Darrens parents up Mingus Mountain to hike around. CHASE was in DIRTY HEAVEN. He found this little hole that he would sit in and play around.

Chase would want Grandma to hold him everythime he would see her. They are watching Mason do his pine cone golf.
Chase playing in Grandpas truck
Here is a shot of the Pine Cone Golf. Mason played 18 holes and had a blast.
Playing a little baseball even.
Making sure he is all squared up........He acted very serious........
Little more of the dirt...........
He was even rolling around in it.

Try to taste it and found out that it was GROSS!
Here he is in his little hole that started all the fun and got him so DIRTY. But he had alot of fun and didn't want to go.

MOUNTAINS WITH FRIENDS

Last week on Darren and I decided to take the boys up Mingus Mountain. We decided to call our friends the Wood Family and make it an evening away. So we took stuff for smores and hot dogs. The boys were so excited. Chase was getting hungry because it was getting close to dinner when we left so we gave him some crackers to tide him over. Then we had to stop at the gas station to get some more candy and when I got back in the truck I found Mason like this..........
This is a picture of Adam shooting his gun.........We all took turns.................

Chase by the grapes..........he loved them so much that now he is always wanting some

Darren took a turn at shooting the gun
Mason did as well but didn't want to hold the gun........Last time we went shooting Mason wanted nothing to do with the gun, so this was a big step.
I even took a turn. I did not want to shoot the gun because I am so scared of back fire but theu all made me do and it wasn't as bad as I thought. So if someone comes in my house I will be able to shoot them. I just don't know if I can kill them on the first try.
Mason hates loud noises so he wore these the whole time.

We were trying to get Chase to wear some but he did not like them.
Here is everyone around the fire. Once the fire was built Chase would try to run and touch the fire so we were all having to hold him. It wasn't as fun when you have to hold him and he is not wanting to be held. But over all we enjoyed the mountains.
Thanks to the Wood Family for coming with us. It made it alot more fun to have more company.
