Mason the birthday boy

Today Mason got to celebrate his birthday at school. He got to pass out a treat and choose something from the birthday box.  He also got to go out for ice cream to DQ with his teacher because he got 100 reading points. Out of his class it was just him and Ryland. So they both enjoyed a blizzard. They also got a shirt that said 100 point reader. To get to the 100 mark he had to read more books than were assigned to read. We are so proud of him. He also got an award which was a book from the librarian that was for getting the most computer points.

He wanted to do the trick that girls do after the shower. It looks like he did pretty well.

Mason's Birthday Party 5-18-2012

Since we are moving we had to have Mason's party earlier than his birthday. So we had planned a party and found out that there was another party planned for the same day that was going to be taking all of the kids from Mason's party. So we decided in 2 days to plan a party. So it was a little crazy but I think the kids had fun. I know Mason and Chase did.

Mason's 1st grade play 5-17-2012

Mason's first grade teacher Mrs. Densmore has the class do a play called,"Friendly Neighborhood Helpers" Mason was the story teller. So he had a lot to memorize. He did really good and his teacher told us that the other teachers were really amazed at how well he did. She said they were all sad when she told them we would be moving.

After the play they had cookies for the kids. Chase enjoyed being able to sit with the first graders. Mason and his best friend Finn wanted their picture taken in every scene. Then Mason with his teacher. We just loved her. She gave all the kids a scrapbook of everything they did through out the year with photos.

Mothers day 5-13-2012

This year for mothers day the boys decided to make me breakfast. What then turned into the boys eatting the breakfast. They also got me some flowers. The boys made me some coupons to use for around the house.

This photo was taken in the morning before church by Mason. With Darren always leaving for church before us it was hard to get one with the kids. Next time.

Father and Sons 5-12-12

This year father and sons was on May 11-12. The person in charge this year had decided to have the camping trip out on someones ranch just 20 minutes from our house by the river. So Darren said it was dirty & hot. He was bummed that they didn't do their normal mountain camp out. Here are the pictures Darren was able to take.  Mason did jump in off the rope swing they had to get wet but wasn't able to take a picture of it.... When the boys got home they said this was the best time ever. So no matter what Darren or the adults thought of the camping spot, the boys had a blast.....

While the boys were gone camping I went up to my friends house Pam for dinner and visiting. She had invited over Katie, and Nikki also whose husbands were gone. It was fun but the babies were fussy so I had to leave early but then I got a call that they had gotten a babysitter so I could go back up to there house. Then I ended up staying their till midnight which was a bad idea since I was the only one home I would be waking up with the babies. Darren usually puts the first baby in bed with him until the other wakes up so we can sleep a little longer. But being home alone I had to get up at 5:30am withTrey. Then after the babies ate I put them back to bed till about 7-7:30am. So it wasn't to bad. Today happens to be my birthday also so Tonight Darren and I will be going out to eat at Nicks restuarant here in town. They have the best bread and oil while you wait for your food.

Darrens last day of work 5-11-12

Well reality is starting to set in. Today was Darrens last day of work here at HOME FURNISHINGS DIRECT in Cottonwood. We have been here for almost 9years. Darren worked for the family bussiness as a saleman, to then becoming the manager. He has decided that he wants to do something different. His brother Brandon has moved back from Washington to distribute a matress line he owns. Darren will work for him in the warehouse part of the bussiness. I have not wanted to move but he just really wanted a change since he was just stuck doing the same thing and had know way of moving up. So from left to right: Kathy, Jason, Darren, Judy, Denny, Gill.
We will be moving to Mesa/Gilbert in the summer so around July. The boys and I are having a hard time excepting the change. Mason wants so bad to stay with his friends. It breaks my heart for them to cry about not seeing them again. Because really they won't. We are going to try and rent our house because our house was bought at the prime time. Darren starts his new job June 4 2012. He will be working un Phoenix and I will be here with the kids until we have a house to live in. We bought one off of Higley and Baseline but they have informed us that it will be longer than expected. We have put in some more offers on some different houses to hope to move sooner than the end of July. Change is hard for me but I am trying to except it. When Darren and I got married almost 10 years ago is when his brother Alan decided to move up here to open a furniture store. I didn't want to move then up here. I had no clue where it was and didn't want to leave my family. I had been married 1yr and we did the move. Darren said,"give it 1 yr and we can move." Well now that it had been 9 years and we have had 4 kids living here. It is hard to say goodbye. We have grown alot as a couple, family, and met some awesome friends. We have grown in our church callings and have done callings that I think we never would have done if it wasn't for the move. Even though I cry as I think about the move now, I know there is nothing I can do but go along with Darren and Hope that he knows what he is doing. That this move will be good for us in the long run.

Verde Valley Fair 5-3-12

This year we decided to go to the local fair.  We bought the unlimited ride bracelets for the boys and we wnet on Thursday so Mason got in free and then got 3 free tickets for reading 6 books. Darren used those to ride with the boys. This was like the fairswheel. They thought it was cool to be so high up. The Twins and I watched from down below.

Mason wanted to ride every ride so Darren took him on the Pirate boat and Mason was in Darrens stomach the whole ride once it got high.

The boys had alot of fun. We were all dirty and I felt gross. I had to clean the babies carseats and stroller when we got home because of all the dirt. We did let the boys choose one prize, Chase chose a light saver that lights up and Mason wanted a Mohawk. Well the only way to get the mohawk is to play those games that everybody hates to play because they just waste your money. Well the lady said in order to win a mohawk you have to have 4 people play. So we figured we would all play and we would win one. So we get ready to play and all then the lady says I have room for a few more. (KNOWING OUR PLAN) Sure enough two kids come to play and they are the winners. We were mad because we just spent $8 and didn't win. So Darren had $4 left and told Mason that he could play one more time but there was a possiblity that he would leave the fair with nothing. I took Chase to ride more rides and Darren stayed. Lucky for Mason Darren won. They played against another family trying to do the same thing. So they were mad at Darren won. But we had just tried to do the same thing. So everybody left happy. Except as we were leaving Chase wanted to change his mind to a mask. But we had no more money.
