Mason cooking 1-1-14

Mason doing some outside cooking to pass off another requirment for scouts.

Everybody wanted to watch as Mason cooked dinner for us all. Mason had alot of fun doing it. Now Chase is asking Darren when it is his turn to cook dinner.

Looking back on our 2013

This year seems to have gone by fast now that I take a look back. While we are in the year it seems to be going by slow.

Darren: He continues to work for his brother Brandon at Easy Rest in Phoenix. He really likes the work. He taught Sunday School which was nice only teaching every other Sunday. He got put in the Young Mens as the 2nd Counsler during the summer. (he had a few campouts but not as much as he is about to with the new year. (1 per month)). He also had a blow out on his junky work car that ended up getting totalled causes us to buy a new car. We got a car that was a 2012 toyota corrolla with 12000 miles and it was fairly cheap, but the problem was it had a smell, which we thought would go away. We were wrong. After many trip to the car wash to shampoo the carpet and seats and do a smoke remover smell, it still just has a stink about it. The good thing is, is that it gets good gas milage for the long drive to and from work. The last good thing that happend was he got contacts. After not being able to see far away and getting glasses ans still not wearing them he went and changed for contacts. Now he sees great if he just remembers to wear them.

Ashley: She continues to stay home with the kids. She now only has the twins to worry about in the day. Which sometimes gets pretty stressful. I got a new calling doing the Visiting Teaching Coordinator. The calling has a gotten alot easier and would be even easier if the ladies below her would do their part.

Mason: He is in the 3rd Grade and has Mrs. Barnes for a teacher. He played baseball and is doing golf once a week. He also joined the running club after school on Fridays that he gets to do with his brother Chase. He was voted in his class to be on student counsel which meets on the first Tuesday of everymonth. He aslo started Cub Scouts on Thursdays right after he got Baptised in June (since we do stake baptisms).  He passed off the 13th articles of faith again.

Chase: He started Kindergarten this year! He has Mrs Andrus for a teacher. (she is a yeller and so many times he would come home from school upset and I would have to call and find out what the problem was. I  think that we will all be ready for 1st grade.) He played teeball and does golf once a month. He also is doing the running club on Fridays with Mason. He is starting to learn to read but he isn't a big fan of school. It is just boring he tells us.

Trey: He is our fussy guy. He is alot taller than his sister. He talks pretty well. He is in nursery at church and sometimes has to sit in time out for hitting. (I think he thinks he is playing) He doesn't like nursery very much but who would when you get in trouble alot. He can climb out of his bed and taught his sister how to climb out as well. He is the one that has learned to open the doors (we own child locks on everything), climb on the counters/table, pretty much get into EVERYTHING.

Shaley: She is the mother of the home. She likes to talk alot but just sometimes hard to understand. Trey and her have their own language. She has also had her fair share of getting into trouble in nursery. She likes to go to class unlike Trey. Trey and Shaley like to go on walks with (mom) their friend Holland. She learned to climb out of her bed thanks to Trey talking to her about how to do it. She wakes up earlier than Trey and will call his name out until he wakes up. They are best friends that fight over the same toy often and if Shaley can't do somthing because she is too short or hasn't learned how to do it yet, she yells for Trey to come help her out. (which he comes running to her). At the end of the day Trey and Shaley Love each other Alot.

This year has had some fun times and difficult times. But we have stuck together as a family would do, to only make us stronger. We are hoping with the New Year that we will be able to make more memories and enjoy it while we do.

New Years Eve

We decided this year to let the kids do sparklers and get to stay up till 10:00. Well I bought the wrong kind of Sparklers but they were still fun. The boys were a little scared at first holding the firework but soon they wished there was more. We played some games and drank yummy drinks and then watch New Yorks, neighborhood fireworks and called it a night at 10:30pm.
